Sophie Turner to Film New X-Men Movie Later This Year

Sophie Turner may be returning to play Jean Grey in the X-Men universe this year. The star told HeyUGuys at the BAFTAs last night, February 12, that she would be shooting a new X-Men movie this year.

There are two X-Men movies supposedly filming this year. Josh Boone’s The New Mutants, which her Game of Throne star, Maisie Williams is rumored to be a part of, and X-Men: Supernova. Now Supernova is really only just a rumor. Nothing has been confirmed, but if this is indeed the second X-Men movie filming this year than this may be the film Sophie is talking about.

X-Men: Supernova popped in an issue of Production Weekly in January and the rumors surrounding the film say that it will be set in the 1990s and be a new adaptation of the “Phoenix Saga,” which focuses on Jean Grey. If the rumors are true than that would explain why Sophie would be filming a new movie later this year.
