Nolan Gould is featured in Vulkan Magazine. The Modern Family star teamed up with photographer Jared Thomas Kocka for the shoot.

In the feature, Nolan talks Modern Family, separating his personal and professional lives, the weirdest thing to happen on set, where he sees himself in 5 years and so much more. Highlights can be found here.

On separating his personal and professional lives: “My parents made it a priority from the beginning that I have a life outside of acting. I have a lot of friends, interests, and hobbies outside of the industry. I try to keep my two lives separate as much as possible so I can just have a regular life when I’m not being a “celebrity.”

The only crossover usually happens when I get recognized when I’m in normal mode. I usually don’t mind. If you see me on a date, please feel free to come up. Just make sure to talk about how funny and cool I am in front of my date!”

On where he sees himself in 5 years: “Is it too much to hope that the show will still be on? I have a unique experience that will really allow me to decide where I want to go with my life. I’m really lucky for that. I’m currently applying to film school so that’s one possible path.

I would love to be involved in some other areas of making entertainment to exercise some different creative muscles and add to projects from a different perspective. There are so many things I’m interested in and I would like to do as much of it as possible.”
