Kristen Stewart Chats Personal Shopper With The New York Times
Kristen Stewart sat down with The New York Times to promote her new film Personal Shopper. In this new indie, Kristen plays a young personal shopper in Paris who begins to experience some paranormal activity. Highlights from her interview are below.
On why people find her intimidating: “Oh, man, I don’t know. I’ve witnessed other people be not received well or rub people the wrong way, and I feel like most of the time that’s coming from a place where that person is shy, and they’re actually trying really hard. I think when I was younger I was, straight up, just guarded — and maybe that came across like I didn’t care. But really, it was quite the opposite.”
On the audience response to the film at Cannes: “It’s quite a divisive movie. It’s not easy to describe. It’s not really easy to even describe your own experience with it sometimes — and that doesn’t bother me. It’s not that I don’t care. It’s just that I don’t mind being a part of something that is polarizing.”
