More Details Emerge on the black-ish Spin-Off, Liberal Arts starring Yara Shahidi

More details surrounding the possible black-ish spin-off have been released. Earlier this year, ABC announced they were considering a spin-off to the comedy, which would focus on the Johnson’s oldest daughter, Zoey, played by Yara Shahidi.

Now we know that the show will be called, Liberal Arts and Yara’s black-ish costar  Deon Cole (Charlie) will appear in the show. The synopsis for the show has also been released and can be found below the jump.

An upcoming episode of black-ish will act as a backdoor pilot for the show. If received well by fans the show will be given a greenlight and will premiere on the network next season.

What are your thoughts on the possible spin-off?

“The Johnson’s eldest daughter, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. Black-ish creator Kenya Barris partners with Larry Wilmore (The Nighty Show, Bernie Mac) to create a contemporary take on the issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education. Yara is joined by Black-ish’s Deon Cole (Charlie) who moonlights as an adjunct marketing professor as well as funny new characters both in the administration and student body who all reflect the complex and hilarious points of views currently populating college campuses”
