Advance Preview: Shadowhunters’ 2B Premiere Is Worth the Wait
Shadowhunters will hold its 2B season premiere tonight, June 5, on Freeform and this second half of the season shows no signs of slowing down. The episode opens immediately after the capture of Valentine and our favorite Shadowhunters are trying to deal with the fallout of what his capture means for each of them.
For Jace, it’s dealing with the fact that he and Clary are not siblings, while for Izzy it’s trying to go cold turkey from her addiction, and, for Simon, he is still getting use to being able to now walk in the sun. However, as all of this is going on, there’s a greater demon on the loose. In regards to Luke, Magnus, and Maia, they are featured in the episode, but they take more background roles. Their storylines are minor, but will become much bigger as the second half of the season goes on.
One of the best parts of this episode is the opening scene. The opening scene features a relationship that was not really touched upon in the first half of the season and, hopefully, this will not be the only scene we see between the two. Another good part was the introduction of Sebastian. Will Tudor is great as Sebastian and his character will be fun to watch as the second half progresses. I am especially excited to see him alongside Dominic Sherwood and Matthew Daddario. I feel like those scenes will be really fun to see come alive on screen.
For those who have been patiently waiting since March for the show’s return, this episode was worth the wait. It sets up the last half of the season in such a way that you will wish you had the ability to watch all the episodes right away.
The episode airs at 8pm, so make sure to tune in and let us know what you thought of the premiere when it is over.
