Yara Shahidi’s New Freeform Show Gets New Name, grown-ish
A new title treatment and name for Yara Shahidi’s new show have been released. Her new show, which was once named Liberal Arts then college-ish, will now be called grown-ish.
“grown-ish follows the Johnson’s eldest daughter Zoey (Shahidi) as she heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. Deon Cole plays Charlie, Dre’s eccentric and unpredictable co-worker at Stevens & Lido. Emily Arlook plays Miriam, a freshman know-it-all at Southern California University with a no holds barred attitude. Chris Parnell plays the dean of Southern California University. Trevor Jackson will portray a socially-conscious sophomore at Southern California University.”
Production on the show is set to begin in Los Angeles next month. Zoey’s show will premiere on Freeform during the mid-season.
