BB Exclusive: Director Joe Wright Opens Up About Darkest Hour & Winston Churchill

BeautifulBallad had the wonderful opportunity to chat with director Joe Wright about his latest creation Darkest Hour during a special screening in early November. This new film tells the story of Winston Churchill during one of his most trying times, he must decide whether or not to explore signing a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany.

During out brief interview, Wright chatted with us about why he chose to make this film and why he chose this moment in Churchill’s life to portray. He also spoke about Gary Oldman’s performance and seeing him in the full costume for the first time. Take a listen to it above!
