Niall Horan Discusses Country Music, His Album, Fahsion, & More With Esquire
Niall Horan recently sat down with Esquire to chat about going solo. The young singer released his debut solo album earlier this year after One Direction called it quits a few years ago. Highlights from his interview are below.
On developing his sound: “As a child, my guitar playing style was down the lines of the stuff that I grew up listening to. So when I went to make an album, basically I started finger picking, and that’s the kind of stuff that came out.”
On his duet with Maren Morris: “It’s in my blood. I’m Irish. The closest thing to Irish music is country music—well, country music and singer-songwriter—so I’m guessing it would be more than likely.”
On his fashion: “I guess what I’m saying is kind of classic. Classic American rock. They did it pretty good back in the day, the ‘70s and ‘80s. Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty and bands like The Eagles, they always looked really cool and really suited to that time. And I think that time in fashion is coming back again.”
