Advance Preview: Beyond’s Season Two Premiere Starts Off On A Slow Foot

The premiere of Beyond starts its second season off on a very slow foot. Titled, “Two Zero One”, the audience finds Holden enjoying a quiet, semi-normal life alongside his family and girlfriend, Willa after the events of the finale. He gets a job, spends time with Willa, and enjoys an occasional family dinner. Everything seems to be going really well for Holden until his visions begin again.

The episode is a slightly interesting take for a season premiere. Instead of hitting the ground running with action and overwhelming story pieces, the episode takes Holden on a nice stroll down normal lane, filled with beautiful moments with Willa and comedic gems with Luke.

However, Holden seems to be the only one trying to live a normal life. Tom and Diane are offered a very uncomfortable deal while Charlie is up to no good with Yellow Jacket. But it is these scenes that begin to lay the groundwork for the overall season arc.

Overall, the season premiere is nice, if not a little slow. However, knowing that fans can watch the entire season in one go makes the episode less lackluster, as it could have been, and more enticing. It will have you readying the next episode when the episode finally comes to a close.
