Jennifer Lawrence Speaks Out About The “Wearing A Revealing Dress In The Cold” Controversy
Jennifer Lawrence has spoken out about her outfit choice from the Red Sparrow photo call held in London yesterday, February 20. The young actress donned a black Versace gown for the occasion, which sparked outrage among the general public.
People quickly took to their social media to express their feelings on Jen’s outfit of choice compared to her male counterparts. Many believed the choice to be sexist due to the cold weather because she was “made” to show skin while her male colleagues got to wear coats and scarfs.
Jennifer responded to those remarks on her Facebook earlier today, February 21. She states, “That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I’m going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf? I was outside for 5 minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice.”
Jennifer went on to add, “This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism. Over- reacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward.”
