Camila Cabello Debunks Rumors Claiming Taylor Swift Encouraged Her to Leave Fifth Harmony
Camila Cabello is speaking up for her friend, Taylor Swift. Rumors have been swirling that Taylor may be the reason why Camila quit Fifth Harmony almost two years ago, but Camila claims that is completely untrue.
Camila revealed to “The Dan Wootton Interview” podcast yesterday, March 15, “Absolutely nobody could ever persuade me to do something. If I don’t want to do something the whole world could be telling me and I won’t do it. And if I do, then the whole world could be telling me to not do it and I’ll do it. I’ve always been that way.”
The singer went on to say, “It annoyed me that people said that she was encouraging me because I know she probably got a lot of flack for that or a lot of negative criticism for that and that annoys me because I’m really protective over my friends. To be honest with you, she’s never, ever had anything to do with that. It’s so funny because when Taylor and I talk, and whenever we hang out, we talk about love and boys and we strategize over it.”
She closed the statement with “Our friendship is very innocent in that way and it’s so, like, pure and I so fiercely protect my friendships with people in the industry that are like that. Shawn [Mendes] is another one of those where, yeah, we talk about the industry but it’s, like, at the end of the day we’re there for each other as people.”
