Production Gets Underway on Captain Marvel

Production is underway on Marvel’s next big blockbuster, Captain Marvel. Brie Larson will be playing the superhero in the first standalone female movie from the studio.

Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law are set to join Brie in the highly anticipated movie.

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie will shoot in Los Angeles, Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans. It will be released to theaters on March 8, 2019.

I love how much research Brie did for this role prior to filming. In the photo above, you can see her with Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander on a recent trip to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

I can’t wait!
