BB Exclusive: Carter Jenkins Talks Tonight’s Explosive Episode of Famous in Love
Tonight, April 11, will be a big night for Famous in Love fans. After last week’s whirlwind premiere, fans will see the fallout of Alexis’ decision to tape her statement regarding the relationship between Nina and Jordan.
BeautifulBallad was lucky enough to speak with Carter Jenkins, who plays Rainer, about tonight’s intense episode. In our interview we talked to Carter about how Rainer will react to finding out his mom and best friend were seeing one another, who he will lean on once he finds out the news, and so much more. You can read our interview below.
How Rainer will react when he hears the news regarding his Mom and Jordan:
”Information like what he’s about to receive, what kind of revelation, I think it sends you into a state of shock. You see different stages of Rainer processing it in the episode. They did a great job in the writing and how it’s handled. But he is on the set of Locked when it happens, so I love how they sort of play on the whole premise of the show and how he deals with it by putting it into the work of the acting that he’s doing. And, it’s something I have experienced, when you’re on set and life goes on and when bad news comes in you have to find a way to use it.”
Will he lean on Harper when he finds out the news, will he lean on someone else, or will he lean on something else?
“Great question. Your instincts are so right there. You know you have to find somewhere to find refuge in that kind of moment. Harper is definitely right there because that’s his latest addiction and you see him reach out to others. Then you see where he lands, so your instincts are really spot on.”

You just described Harper as Rainer’s latest addiction, is Harper really just an addiction or is there love there?
“Just like how it is in real life. I didn’t know, but I just went in curious. I’ve been playing Rainer and it [their relationship] does evolve. Maybe it started out as one thing, but Harper and Rainer have a strong commonality in there. Their addictions and that bonds them in a way that Rainer and Paige don’t have. It does grow their relationship.”
At the end of the Season 2 premiere we saw Rainer reaching for the bottle again after his first run in with Paige since leaving rehab, will she continue to be a sore subject for him this Season?
“No, I think that’s where he’s at right now, but again it [their relationship] evolves. He has to go back to filming with Paige and some of those things are the most romantic love scenes. Their relationship, they’re going to figure it out. Figure out a way to coexist again.”
What are you most excited for fans to see this season?
“I think there’s a lot of pent-up rage that is ever-present. It was a fun thing to play and I think people will enjoy that.”
