BB Exclusive: Country Singers Savvy and Mandy Chat their New Single “Wildfire”
Savvy and Mandy are taking the country music industry by storm and we had the amazing chance to sit down with the “Wildfire” singers to talk about their new single “Wildfire”, performing at CMA Fest last month, their dream collaborations, their debut EP and so much more. Check it out below.
Tell us a little bit about yourselves and your new single, “Wildfire”?
“We are Savvy & Mandy! We are sisters who sing country/pop music. We are so excited about our new single “Wildfire”. We feel like this song perfectly captures us and our sound, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
What was the inspiration behind “Wildfire”?
“Savvy was the one who originally had the idea. She saw an awesome picture of this woman in a gorgeous dress standing in front of a giant fire and she felt immediately inspired. She came up with the title “Wildfire” and brought that into a writing session we had with our friends Tyler Shamy and Fabio Angelini the next day. We all collaborated on the idea and it became what it is today. The song is about a woman who is unapologetically herself and knows what she wants. She isn’t afraid to say, “If you come into my life, you may get burned.” She knows her faults, and I think that there is something really empowering about that.”
Any plans to release a music video for the single? If so, when can fans expect to see it?
“We are going to be releasing a lyric video to “Wildfire” really soon! We don’t have an exact date yet, but it will be within the next few weeks. We wanted this lyric video to almost feel like a music video, so it’s a bit different and unexpected from a typical lyric video!”
You can read the rest of our interview under the jump. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long before the lyric video is out. Until then make sure to listen to the song on Spotify and listen to the girls every Tuesday at 3pm on Radio Disney Country.

I hear you are working on your debut EP, how is that going?
“It’s going great, thanks! Our upcoming EP is actually complete! We are planning to release it within the next few months! We hope y’all are going to love it.”
You just performed on the Radio Disney Country Stage at CMA Fest this year, what was that like?
“It was amazing! The stage was so much bigger this year than last year, which was so much fun to perform on. They had giant pictures blown up on the wall behind the stage of every musician performing on the RD Country stage, so it was pretty surreal to see a giant picture of your face behind you! We also had a meet and greet afterwards with our fans which was a blast. We loved meeting everyone!”
This was your second time performing at the iconic music festival, was there any performance that really stood out to both of you from this year’s show?
“One that stood out to us was Lindsey Ell, who performed the same day we did on the RD Country Stage. It was just her and her guitar, and she put on an amazing show. I love her confidence, and I think she is incredibly talented.”
How was your experience at this year’s show different from your first appearance at CMA Fest?
“It was definitely different! We felt more comfortable because we knew what to expect this year as opposed to last year. Even though the stage was bigger, we had performed at Fan Fair the previous year, so we felt at ease in the space and everything went way more smoothly than last year! We can’t wait to perform again next year.”
You both are very active on your YouTube page, what made you want to post more than just your music videos to the page?
“We want everyone to get to know us as people, not just musicians. Music is our passion, but we wanted people to learn more about who we are and other things we enjoy doing! We love to make dumb challenge videos and do fun things that make us laugh!”
You also both host a show on Radio Disney Country, can you explain how you landed that gig?
“We have always been close with the Radio Disney family ever since we were way younger. They have always been so kind and supportive throughout our journey. About a year and a half ago, we had a meeting with the head of Radio Disney, Phil Guerini, to show him some of our new music. He ended up loving the music and our personalities together, so he offered us a radio show. It is crazy to say that we are the first musicians ever to have their own show on Radio Disney Country! We have loved learning a whole new field. It has been something amazing that we never thought we would be able to do.”
How do you balance your personal lives with all that you have going on in your professional lives?
“Music is what we have always loved to do, so to us it doesn’t feel like a job. We feel like music and our personal lives flow seamlessly into each other. We find a perfect balance for family, friends, and music!”
Do you have any dream collaborations?
“We have WAY too many! Some of them being Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Cam, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay… the list goes on and on!”
What are the rest of your plans for 2018?
“To keep working on music, always. The lyric video for “Wildfire” will be coming out soon, and our upcoming EP will be released within the next few months! You can catch The Savvy & Mandy Show every Tuesday at 3pm PST on Radio Disney Country as well. We are also going on a big family vacation in August to London and Paris which we are so excited for! We have never been!”
