REVIEW: Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Fan Experience is a MUST at SDCC
BeautifulBallad got the amazing chance to check out Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Fan Experience today, July 18 in San Diego. The offsite experience was created to promote Amazon Studios’ upcoming new series, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan at San Diego Comic Con, which will be released on August 31.
For those who are planning to attend Comic Con this weekend, this experience is a MUST. This is not your typical Comic Con offsite. The Jack Ryan Experience sets out to immerse you in the world of a CIA Analyst with multiple activities, including the Dark Ops escape room, the Jack Ryan Training Field and a bazaar featuring drinks, snacks and other goodies.
It took the great minds at MediaMonks 3 months to bring the Jack Ryan Training Field to life and it is not to be missed at this year’s Con. Using virtual reality, fans will get the chance to prove if they have what it takes to be a hero like Jack Ryan. Fans will get to drive, zip line and even jump out of a helicopter during their training.
Twitch members will also be able to get in on the action. Twitch has teamed up with the experience in order to live stream the event all weekend. Also, Twitch members may or may not get the chance to take part in the training field experience. Make sure to check it out if you are a member.
The Dark Ops escape room is not new to the Con scene. The room was apparently used at New York Comic Con last year, but it is still a fun 20 minute experience. The room takes you into the first episode of the series, where you and your team become rookie analysts tasked to undercover a deadly plot.
You can learn more about the experience here. If you are planning on stopping by the offsite make sure to give yourself enough time to explore the whole thing. We suggest giving yourself at least an hour because there will be lines for the VR experience and, as I mentioned earlier, the escape room takes up to 20 minutes to get through.
The Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan fan experience will take place Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22 at the park located at the corner of 1st street and Martin Luther King Promenade – directly across from the San Diego Convention Center. It will be open daily from 9 am to 7 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
