Lily Collins Joins Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller On The Cover Of InStyle

While restoring grandeur to the couture house of Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller has charmed royalty of both the British and Hollywood varieties. Along with actress Lily Collins, she covers the next special subscriber cover of our September issue! @ClareWaightKeller has achieved a lot in only a matter of a year — completed two ready-to-wear collections, presented her first couture show to wildly enthusiastic reviews, and the ultimate coup of designing Meghan Markle’s wedding gown. How was that historic day for the British-born designer? “A little bit like a workday, because I knew I had to get everything ready in the morning — prepare the dress, make sure it was steamed, make sure everything was perfect and where it needed to be at the right time,” she told @EricWilsonSays. Only afterward did she allow herself to recognize the monumental scale. “I’m just thrilled that it would happen in my first year, because for the house itself, to have this kind of thing happen has completely changed people’s perception of @GivenchyOfficial.” Read the full story at the link in bio. | Photographed by @simonprocter

Lily Collins is on the cover of the September issue of InStyle magazine. The young actress is joined by the artistic director of Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller, for the special fashion issue. Highlights from the interview are below.

On meeting Waight Keller: “I walked into my fitting, and she was just a ball of energy but also incredibly calm. I thought, ‘This is so strange — how is she so levelheaded and at the same time so energetic? Doesn’t she have a show tomorrow?’ She is just so passionate and vibrant when she talks.”

On her Givenchy MET Gala look: “It was so beautifully telling of that line between making a statement and not being too costumey. I think that is what Clare is doing with the brand.”
