K.J. Apa Covers GQ Australia Style
K.J. Apa is on the cover of the 2018 GQ Australia Style magazine. The magazine unveiled the issue in honor of its 20th anniversary and K.J. was chosen as the luck cover star. Highlights from his issue are below.
On his jealousy of Justin Bieber: “If I wasn’t acting, I’d have tattoos everywhere. I’m so jealous of Justin Bieber. I would have them all over my neck. And I want a sleeve. I just can’t do it though. I have to get these covered every day.”
On taking breaks: “I would say in the last year, I’ve had maybe a couple of weeks off. Two weeks. Total. But when I signed with [Hollywood talent agency] UTA, I told my agents that I don’t want to have a day off in the next five to seven years. I just want to keep it going. It’s important to use the attention around the show and the success of the show, to just milk it. And people are gonna struggle to dissect you from your character, so I feel like I need to prove myself, outside of the show.”
On the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: “That show is going to blow up. It’s cool because I see them as the sister show. And it’s fun to be like: ‘you guys have no idea what’s going to happen’. I remember people saying Riverdale was going to blow up and it just goes in one ear and out the other because no one can prepare you for that level of attention. You can’t prepare someone for that.”
