REVIEW: Siren Makes a Big Splash with it’s Season 2 Premiere
Siren kicks off their season 2 tonight, January 24, with a must watch episode for fans. Picking up right after the Season 1 finale your favorite characters are trying to get their lives back to normal. However, a town with a connection to mermaids, things can never really return to normal.
Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) is dealing with the ramifications from her conversation with Ben (Alex Roe) last season and the mysterious arrival of her mother. Xander (Ian Verdun) is dealing with the choice he made last season while at the same time attempting to get to know the new lady in town. Helen (Rena Owen) is trying to help Ryn (Eline Powell) adapt more to the human world and Ben is dealing with his connection to Ryn’s siren song and his relationship with Maddie.
By the end of the episode each character has something new to worry about when the mermaids arrive on land in Bristol Cove. Xander’s the lone exception as he will have something completely different coming his way.
The premiere jumps right out the gate and doesn’t slow down and the writers do a nice job laying the groundwork for its second season. This show may have seemed like a fish out of water when it was first introduced last year, but, like last year, each episode proved to be better than the one before. If this premiere is any indication, this season is going to be even better than the last.
