BB Exclusive: Director Dome Karukoski Talks Casting Nicholas Hoult & Lily Collins in Tolkien

Director Dome Karukoski talked to BeautifulBallad at WonderCon last month about his new film, Tokien. “Tolkien explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the ‘fellowship’ apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.”

In our chat with Dome, he talks why he wanted to make this film, casting Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins, the love story and so much more.

Tolkien will hit theaters on May 10!
