Dove Cameron sat down with the Evening Standard to talk about her new musical, The Light in the Piazza. Dove is set to make her West End debut this coming June at the Royal Festival Hall.

In the interview, Dove talks how The Light in the Piazza is her favorite musical, therapy, her boyfriend Thomas Doherty, living in London and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On The Light in the Piazza being her favorite musical: “It’s been my favourite musical score since I was really young, when my family was going on a road trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and we bought the CD for the car and all fell in love with it. I’ve wanted to play Clara for so long: I’ve been talking about it in interviews, tweeting about it, I posted a video of myself singing the title song on Instagram. My third tattoo — I have eight now — was this little sun [on her middle finger], which reminds me of the lyric Clara sings, ‘I know what the sunlight can be…’”

On Thomas: “He’s the rest of my life, for sure. I know I sound like a 23-year-old in love, I know I sound like an idiot, but with my experience of life and death and romance and coming and going, it’s just one of those cosmic things you can’t really say no to.”
