Kaitlyn Dever & Beanie Feldstein Chat Booksmart With Allure

Kaitlyn Dever sat down with Allure magazine to chat about her new film, Booksmart. The young actress was joined by her costar Beanie Feldstein for the interview. Highlights from their interview are below.

On romantic comedies: “We all grew up on teen coming-of-age movies, but none of them are like [our movie] Booksmart. Ours just centers on two girls — played by us — and their intense friendship. But we wouldn’t have Booksmart if we hadn’t watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Weird Science when we were young. We have to thank them. But I would have loved to have had a movie like this growing up.”

On actresses who can do both: “I think about Emma Stone, too — she has dramatic talent and comedic talent. I think that makes the best actor. The funniest female actors that I love onscreen can also play dramatic — Melissa McCarthy is a good example.”
