Madelaine Petsch is featured in the newest issue of Nylon Magazine. The Riverdale star is featured in the magazine’s “The Choice Issue”.
In the issue, Madelaine talks playing Cheryl Blossom, the impact Choni has had on fans and her, keeping her private side private, on keeping her relationship with Travis Mills more quiet, the #MeToo movement, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.
On the impact Choni has had on fans and her: “The response that I’ve gotten from real human beings—in person—telling me that my art has allowed them to come out to their parents, or to be comfortable with their parents not being comfortable with them being out,”
On keeping her relationship with Travis more private: “My relationship [with musician Travis Mills]. I used to share a lot about it online, and now that I don’t, people just assume we’re no longer together. But in reality, I realize that it’s so much more special and safe if I don’t share a lot of it.”
On the #MeToo movement: “I’m happy that we’re in a place where we are all aware of what we are doing, and we’re more careful, because we should be more respectful to people. And that’s a no-brainer to me… I’m actually really proud and honored to be a part of a generation that is calling people out on their bullshit.” She paused, and then said: “I don’t know if I’m allowed to swear, but whatever.”
