Dakota Fanning Defends Decision To Take On Role In Film Sweetness In The Belly

Dakota Fanning has come under fire for her role in the upcoming film, Sweetness In The Belly. Based on the novel by Camilla Gibb, Dakota will be playing a British girl orphaned in Africa before escaping to London after civil war breaks out in Ethiopia.

The first clip from the film was released online earlier today, September 4, ahead of it’s Toronto International Film Festival premiere, and it did not take long for viewers to voice their concerns about Dakota, her character, and the film.

Dakota quickly jumped onto her Instagram to release a message to fans about the film and why she chose to take on the role. She explains the background of her character and goes on to say that she hopes people will find the film enjoyable once it premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival.
