REVIEW: Modern Love Will Leave You With a Happy Heart
Love can be found all around us. It is one of the most powerful feeling and yet, also one of the hardest to accept and/or overcome. It comes in so many different shapes and sizes and Amazon Video’s new series, Modern Love explores all those different forms of love.
Based on the New York Time column, “Modern Love”, the anthology series explores all the various degrees of love that people can experience over the course of their life. From romantic to platonic, each episode is centered on a different kind of love and how it shapes it can shape a person for good or bad. Each episode, no matter the kind of love, will leave viewers with a lighthearted feeling as the credits begin to roll. Even though some of the episodes focus on some hard hitting stuff, the series wraps each one up into a nice warm bow.
One of the great things about this series is the cast. With names like Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel and Andy Garcia, there isn’t a bad episode in the bunch. Each cast members thoroughly enjoyed bringing their particular episode to life, even when the subject was a little on the emotional side. An episode in particular to keep an eye out for is Patel’s episode. He shines in the episode and really makes great use of the source material.
Modern Love isn’t for the deep thinking or edge of your seat kind of viewing. It’s a beautiful and simple series that will be a perfect addition to a Fall weekend.
