The Cast of Arrow Say Goodbye on Their Final Day of Filming

The cast of Arrow said their goodbyes today, November 13. The cast is currently in the midst of filming the show’s final episode in Vancouver and have been sharing thoughts on their final day throughout the day.

The only stars we really have not heard from yet are Emily Bett Rickards and the Green Arrow himself, Stephen Amell. I can only assume that we will hear from them after the wrap filming.

I can’t believe the day is finally here! A huge thank you to the entire cast and crew on the monumental moment. It is a sad day for all, but after working their butts off for the past eight seasons, it is well deserved!

I took this photo almost 4 years ago. I’d just gotten off a call with Warner Bros. where I learned my life was about to change forever. My journey on Arrow had begun, and I would be moving to Vancouver in a few days. I took this picture because I wanted to remember the feeling I had in that moment. The overwhelming excitement. The immense gratitude. At the time I had no idea where this adventure would lead. I didn’t know this show would have such an outstanding lifespan, or how many people, young and old, I would be able to meet and help through playing this character. Or how they would help me. Most of all, I didn’t know the greatest gift was waiting on the other side of the border. My cast. Who would welcome me with open arms and become my greatest source of strength. My soulmates. My family. And Stephen, our gracious and unwavering leader, to whom I am eternally grateful. Today begins our last week on Arrow. As thankful as I felt the day this photo was taken, nothing could describe how much that love and gratitude has grown. I am so proud of our cast, crew, writers, and producers. I hope you enjoy this final season. And I hope when you look back, you’ll find this story has moved you, inspired you, and changed you for the better. Because of #Arrow, I have been changed, for good. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Today is the last day of filming for #Arrow. I still remember what I was wearing for my audition, what the room was like, my mind being blown that I was cast, my first flight to Vancouver, walking into my first hotel room, the first fitting, meeting @StephenAmell before that meeting and seeing the amount of sushi he was gonna down post-training session, our first day of shooting spent laying on a wet pallet and not wanting it to end. Cut to 2019 and the show has made 170 episodes of television, laid the groundwork for a whole universe of shows not to mention ushered in a new era of television superheroes. I’m proud to have been a part of it over the last 8 seasons but here’s what’s even more wonderful; I have always said that as I move from job to job I’m lucky if I get to keep ONE good friend after I move on. With Arrow I’ve kept more than I thought possible. People who whether I see them once a year or talk to them once a week we pick up right where we left off. That’s my greatest takeaway from my time on Arrow these last 8 seasons. None of that would have been possible without our creators, our writers & directors, the CW, this cast, this crew as lastly YOU the fans. You’re the biggest reason this show became what it is. Thanks for all the memories and for all the fun and to all of my #Arrow family, especially @StephenAmell, Congratulations on a most amazing run.

Where would “Rene” be with out this team? Nowhere. Where would “Rene” be if there was no “Oliver”? Nowhere. Where would this show be without @stephenamell? Nowhere. Or at the very least cancelled wayyyy before season 8. I’ve said this to you before but a fact is a fact: you worked your butt off to make this show successful. That is a great representation of leadership. When I showed up in season 5 you still put in hard work to make this show strong. And you did it smoothly. You set a blueprint. Thank you for embracing me into this world. Congratulations. I remember I ran into @marcguggenheim in Los Angeles back in 2012 when the show aired. Congratulated him on the show, in the back of my mind I thought: “I definitely want to be on that show”. Fast forward to 2016 and I had the opportunity to audition for a small part (or so I thought at the time) on the show. I won’t forget the moment when our costume designer #MayaMani told me I was playing #WildDog I jumped for joy. Ran into @davidpaulramsey in Miami for @americanblackfilmfestival and he introduced himself to me and said he looked forward to working with me. Fast forward 3 years later and David is like a big brother to me. ❤️ Love you bro, you gracefully give to others. It’s beautiful to see. Thank you for being an anchor wherever you are. @julianaharkavy you showed up halfway through the season of 5. Immediately I inherited a sister who wanted to comfort all of us. Continue to be the “mom” we all need on set. ❤️So grateful to this cast and crew for embracing me half way through this journey. @echokells your so darn funny and talented I hope we can continue to work together! (stay tuned guys!) @katiecassidy you always displayed an undeniable spark with #TheBlackCanary and #TheBlackSiren. And whenever we’re at work you were always sweet and kind. @emilybett it’s nearly impossible to not laugh with you. I was always in awe of your ability to bring #Felicity to life with such fluidity. Thank you for always being a caring actor and peer.

I can’t believe the final day of Arrow is upon us. When I began this job I was poised and ready, excited to jump in and take on a legacy of being Olicity’s kid – to create such a rich conflicted character based on a beloved relationship built by two brilliant actors for whom I have so much respect. What I found was a family who welcomed me in – cast, crew, and creatives who joined and supported my enthusiasm in bringing Mia Smoak-Queen to life. I have nothing but love and gratitude to the entire Arrow family and the fandom for making this such a wonderful chapter of my career and of my life. No matter what the future holds, long live Star City. #ARROW #TheFinalBow #Olicity #MiaSmoak #Olicitybaby #ArrowFinale @stephenamell @emilybett @cw_arrow @thecw @arrowprodoffice @arrowwriters
