Normani Opens Up to Rolling Stone About Camila Cabello Comments, Racism, New Music & More

Normani has opened up to Rolling Stone regarding a variety of different hard hitting topics in her March cover issue. The star is one of the three amazing ladies (SZA and Megan Thee Stallion are the other two) featured on the new issue.

In the interview, Nomani talks the lack of support she felt while in Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello’s racist remarks and how they affected her, her solo album, racism, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

On Camila’s comments: “It would be dishonest if I said that this particular scenario didn’t hurt me. It was devastating that this came from a place that was supposed to be a safe haven and a sisterhood, because I knew that if the tables were turned I would defend each of them in a single heartbeat. It took days for her to acknowledge what I was dealing with online and then years for her to take responsibility for the offensive tweets that recently resurfaced. Whether or not it was her intention, this made me feel like I was second to the relationship that she had with her fans,”

On her reaction to the comments: “It took days for her to acknowledge what I was dealing with online and then years for her to take responsibility for the offensive tweets that recently resurfaced. Whether or not it was her intention, this made me feel like I was second to the relationship that she had with her fans.”
