Nikki Hahn Talks her New Single “In My Head” with BB
Adventures in Babysitting star, Nikki Hahn just released her debut single, “In My Head”. To celebrate the new song, BeautifulBallad sat down with the singer to talk about the song.
During our chat, we also talked about her upcoming EP, if she would ever appear in a musical, what else she has in store for 2020 and so much more.
“In My Head” is your very first single, what was the experience like bringing the song to life?
“It took about a year to finish it. It really started off as a journal entry at first, and a few months later when it was turned into song form, it had more of a singer-songwriter feel to it. So because I wanted it to be pop I actually had a big hand in the direction of the song and producing. I loved being in the recording studio, I never wanted to leave.”
How did you decide that this would be your debut single?
“Because I was so involved in the making of it, I was really happy with the outcome, especially for being the first song I’ve written.”
Any jitters leading up to the song’s release?
“Oh yeah. Although, I think it was mostly excitement and wanting to get my fans reactions since they are so supportive!!”

You are currently working on an EP, can you tell us any details on the album and when it will be released?
“I am working on it, but it’s too early to know about release dates, but it’s definitely in the works!”
Do you have a favorite song off the EP?
“Right now, “In My Head” is the only complete song. I do have a favorite concept I’m working on right now and will continue to work on songs since I will be at home during the lock down in California.”
Any chance of a possible tour before the year is out?
“I’ve been performing around Los Angeles but everything has been put on hold for now with what is happening. I hope to get back to performing live once events are possible. For now, check out my Youtube and Instagram for videos of me performing since I am practicing social distancing at home.”
You have appeared in a number of different television shows and movies, why the jump to music?
“I’ve actually been doing music for a long time but I had just never put anything out. I started singing at around 6 years old, and playing guitar at 12. And my dad actually is a guitarist with a degree in classical, so music has always been a part of my family.”
Any plans to return to the acting world?
“Definitely! I never left the acting world. Right now it is technically pilot season, so I was busy with castings and producers sessions until things were put on hold. But I look forward to getting back to it once things start back up again.”
Your “Adventures in Babysitting” costar, Sabrina Carpenter is about to make her Broadway debut in Mean Girls, would you ever star in a Broadway musical or a movie musical?
“I would LOVE to!! Musical theater was actually the first genre I started with when I started singing. It’d be great to get back to my roots.”
Besides the EP, what else is in store for you in 2020?
“I’m graduating high school this June!! I’m so excited to finally be able to completely focus on my career.”
