What better way to kick off our 15th anniversary celebrations than with the ultimate California muse, Elle Fanning, photographed by Gia Coppola for the cover of our new September issue. Fanning’s role as Catherine II of Russia in Hulu’s The Great proved to be one of the streaming platforms top performing shows during the pandemic, so no wonder a second series has already been green lit. We caught up with the actress to talk about working with Hollywood’s most exciting directors and being fêted by the high fashion community. Link in bio. . . . Elle Fanning is on the cover of C CALIFORNIA STYLE & CULTURE magazine. The actress is on the cover of the magazine’s 15th anniversary issue.

Elle is on the cover to talk about her hit Hulu series, The Great. The show premiered on the streaming platform earlier this year and immediately received a season 2 pick up. Production on the new season is rumored to begin later this year, however that might change due to COVID-19.

”There’s a very dark side to me that is irreverent and weird, that really likes to go there and push people’s buttons.” In Hulu’s critically acclaimed series The Great, Fanning is hilarious in her absurd portrayal of Catherine II of Russia — a notable deviation from the roles she’s become known for.
