Javicia Leslie Suits Up in First Look at her New Batwoman Suit

The first full look at Javicia Leslie in her new Batwoman costume has been released. Leslie will be stepping in as the new lead of the show when it’s new season begins in 2021.

As you can see in the images, her costume is different than Ruby Rose’s costume. The suit was redesigned to give the character a more natural look that fit Leslie. It also has shorter boots and red gauntlets over the forearms.

In a statement from The CW, Leslie revealed, “I love the fact that Ryan is becoming her own Batwoman — it’s her style, her swag, and her moment! It was an honor to be able to collaborate with Caroline and Maya. I felt it was important that viewers could tell by the silhouette that Batwoman was a Black girl. With the form-fitting suit and beautiful Afro, we definitely nailed it!”

The new season is set to begin in 2021. However, fans will have to wait until the 3rd episode before catching a glimpse of it. Leslie’s character, Ryan Wilder will be wearing Kate Kane’s (Rose) suit in the first two episodes.
