ADVANCE PREVIEW: The Bold Type Season Premiere Wastes No Time Setting Up the Final Season
The final season of The Bold Type is upon us and, the premiere, wastes no time setting up the last season. Entitle The premiere, “Trust Fall”, picks up just days after the Season 4 finale with our favorite leading ladies, Kat (Aisha Dee) and Jane (Katie Stevens) trying to help Sutton (Meghann Fahy) forget about her troubles with Richard (Sam Page).
A number of storylines are introduced in the fourth season, including Kat’s new relationship with Eva (Alex Paxton-Beasley) and Jane’s ongoing investigation into the inappropriate workplace story. Breadcrumbs are also dropped for some news one storylines this season, as well.
What’s so refreshing about this show, is nothing is ever simple, and I mean that in a good way. The characters experience real-life situations that have real-life consequences, which many people can relate to. This premiere is no different. Some of their stories may, on the surface, feel like they get simple conclusions, but nothing is ever that easy, especially on The Bold Type.
As the last of the season premiere episodes for The Bold Type, this one does a nice job laying the groundwork to wrap up the show. Storylines our favorite characters will be batting this season are kicked off, while also reminding the audience why the scenes between our favorite trio remain the best scenes on this show. Sutton, Jane, and Kat will each face their own dilemmas this season, but their dilemmas will only end up bringing the friends closer.
Jacqueline (Melora Hardin), Sage (Stephanie Costa), Alex (Matt Ward), and Andrew (Adam Capriolo) make appearances throughout the episode, but only to help propel the stories. However, Moore’s Oliver and Capriolo’s Andrew continue to be the characters that keep on giving.
Though the first episode is good, it is the second episode of the season that really gets the momentum going. For those who are thinking the premiere doesn’t live up to past premieres, just wait! The episode does everything it needs to do to get fans prepped for the final season and for what’s to come.
