Advance Preview: Motherland: Fort Salem Shows No Signs of Slowing Down

Motherland: Fort Salem is back with its second season and the series shows no signs of slowing down. The premiere episode picks up immediately after the events of the season one finale and, though, it does not answer all our burning questions, it does start to answer some of them.

In the premiere, entitled, “Of the Blood”, we find Tally (Jessica Sutton) still coming to terms with her new role as a Biddy and the sacrifice she made for General Alder in finale. As for Raelle (Taylor Hickson) and Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams), the pair are stilling trying to deal with the ramifications from their “bond”. However, like most Motherland episodes, not everything is as it seems and our favorite witches are thrown new twists that will take them down a variety of different unseen paths.

One of my favorite parts of this series is the relationship between Sutton, Hickson, and Williams. These three are so much fun to watch on screen together and they are just as good in the premiere. Though each are going to be facing their own personal struggles this season, it seems that the three are going to be working through them as a team. Now, this is just an assumption based off watching the first two episodes of the season, but I am really hoping I am right about it.

Fans of Raelle and Scylla (Amalia Holm) will be a little disappointed in the premiere because of the lack of their favorite couple, Raylla. However, fans will not be disappointed with Scylla’s storyline. Holm continues to impress me with her performance as Scylla and this season’s storyline will only continue to push her to new extremes. Her storyline is probably the one that got me most excited for the season after watching the premiere.

Motherland fans are in for a treat with tonight’s (June 22) episode, but it is the second episode of the season that will really get everyone pumped. The second episode introduces some of the new characters joining the Motherland family, plus it features some pretty interesting revelations, looking at you Raelle!

Let us know what you think after you check out the episode tonight!
