The Weeknd & Lily-Rose Depp Are Headed To HBO In New Series, The Idol

HBO has ordered another new series from Euphoria creator, Sam Levinson. This new series is titled, The Idol, and will star The Weeknd, who is also a creator on the series, and Lily-Rose Depp.

According to a press release from HBO, “The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.”

The series will begin production next year and film in and around the Los Angeles area. There are set to be six episodes in the first series and they will all be directed by Amy Seimetz.
