Legendary and Warner Bros. to Release “A Christmas Story 2”
Legendary and Warner Bros. are apparently working on a sequel to the hit Holiday movie, A Christmas Story. Entitled, A Christmas Story Christmas, the sequel is set to premiere on HBO Max.
Peter Billingsley is closing a deal to return as the older Ralphie. The actor originated the role of Ralphie in the first movie, which was released in 1983.
The film follows an adult Ralphie (Billingsley) in the 1970s, who returns to the house on Cleveland street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up. With the same attention to real-life tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man and sews the seeds for the origins of the beloved Holiday classic.
Julie Hagerty is apparently in talks to play the role of Peter’s mom. Production on the movie will begin in Bulgaria this February.
This is one of my favorite holiday movies, but I do not think we need a sequel. I think this is one movie that should be left alone. No sequel needed. Also, why not just film in Cleveland instead of Bulgaria?
What do you guys think?
