Tom Hanks Takes Center Stage in First Look at Disney+’s Pinocchio

The first look at Academy Award® winning director Robert Zemeckis’ live action retelling of Pinocchio has been released. The still features Tom Hanks as Geppetto, the wood-carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son, gazing at his newly built wooden puppet.

Hanks and Ainsworth are joined in the movie by Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience”; Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key as “Honest” John; Academy Award® nominee Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans as The Coachman.

The movie will be released to Disney+ this September. I love that the puppet looks exactly like the character featured in Disney’s animated tale.
