Dove Cameron Chats “Boyfriend”, Acting, & More With The Hollywood Reporter
Dove Cameron sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to promote her most recent single, “Boyfriend”. The singer/actress unveiled her hit song earlier this February after much hesitation. Highlights from her interview are below.
On the release of of her new single, “Boyfriend”: “The feeling of having people like something in theory for a week, and then delivering on it, I was ready to die. To me and to the people closest to me, my sexuality is not a revelation. I’ve even spoken about it in the public eye many times, but there’s a difference between that and then writing a song as explicit in the expression of your sexuality as this song. I definitely was very like, ‘This is going to crash and burn in 100 ways.'”
On her upcoming film with Machine Gun Kelly, Good Mourning With a U: “Machine Gun Kelly called me one day and was like, ‘Hey, I wrote this movie, and the whole time I was writing it I was thinking about you for this role.’ And I was like, ‘Sir, have I met you?'”
