Maisie Williams Covers The New Issue Of NET-A-PORTER
Maisie Williams is on the cover of the new issue of NET-A-PORTER. The young actress is on the cover to promote her new FX series, PISTOL. Highlights from her interview are below.
On swapping the busy streets of London for the English countryside to call home: “You know what? I have just never felt better. What I’ve learned about myself is that I gain a lot more when I am alone, and it’s much harder to do that when you’re out on the scene. It’s hard to really let go and there is a tendency to give into pressures while living in that world. That’s not to say those who choose to do that aren’t also completely freely expressing themselves, but that’s not how I am going to find any more clarity in my life. [Moving out here] is like my own little quiet rebellion.”
On how she prepared for her role as Pamela “Jordan” Rooke in PISTOLS: “I started [preparing for the role] by diving straight into the book she wrote in 2019 called Defying Gravity: Jordan’s story. I knew that, even with all of this context, there would only be a limited number of opportunities to tell her story. She was the most important resource for all of us; she saw it all and was there from the very beginning, before the Pistols were the Pistols… it’s very important to create something that she loves.”
