Who was that young lady who sang with Paul Simon who he said wasn’t born when he wrote the song they sang together? I cannot find her name anywhere.

One morning in 1965 or 66 I awoke to the song “Sounds of Silence” and I couldn’t believe the poetry in the song. I usually don’t like/dislike a song when I first heard it. But that song was so powerful that I fell in love with it immediately. I was in the Air Force stationed in Alaska at the time. The music of Simon and Garfunkel inspired me to write poetry to the young lady I was in love with at the time. While it didn’t work out between us we are still friends almost 60 years later. Their music helped my future wife and me through college. We’ve been married for 55 years now. Of course we didn’t stay together because of the music but hearing the music brings back many happy memories. Thanks, Paul, you have been an inspiration.

I hope Art Garfunkel is doing well. I wish he had been there for the celebration.
