Demi Lovato Poses For GQ HYPE Spain
Demi Lovato is featured in the newest issue of GQ HYPE Spain. The singer is on the cover to promote her latest single, “Cool for the Summer (Rock Version)”. Highlights from her interview is below.
On the growth she has seen from the #MeToo movement: “Thanks to the #MeToo movement and those very brave people who shared their experiences, I would say that this generation is more aware than mine about what it means to take advantage of someone and commit abuse of power. Before there were socially acceptable things that today are not, something that I appreciate.”
On the difficulties of identifying as genderless: “I face this every day. For example, in public toilets. Having to access the women’s bathroom, even though I don’t completely identify with it. I would feel more comfortable in a genderless bathroom. Or it also happens when filling out forms, such as government documents or any other where you have to specify your gender. You only have two options, male and female, and I feel like none of that makes sense to me. I see myself conditioned to choose a woman because there are no more. I think this has to change. Hopefully with time there will be more options.”
