Maya Hawke Joins Father Ethan On Cover Of Variety

Maya Hawke is on the cover of the new issue of Variety magazine. The actress is joined by her father, and fellow actor, Ethan Hawke to promote their new film, Wildcat. Highlights from their interview are below.

On nepotism: “I had moments of insecurity about it while we were shooting the movie. But the internet doesn’t have a lot of nuances. My dad has been a massive teacher for me, and we want to work together. We like being with each other.”

On having a balanced childhood: “I’ve met kids who grew up in entertainment industry families and didn’t get to go to Disney World. The worst-case scenario is you have to take a picture with someone. That’s a way more normal event than you not interacting with society at all.”

On working with her mom, Uma Thurman, on an upcoming project: “I’m so excited for people to get to see my mom be funny. In the last couple of years, she’s done independent comedies that, for whatever reason, haven’t seen the light of day. She’s the funniest person I know.”
