Austin Butler is on the cover of ESQUIRE. Austin is on the cover to promote his new film, Dune: Part 2. Highlights from his interview are below.

On watching his older material: “I know that I would probably cringe if I watched some things, because you’re seeing yourself through the learning process. But that was my schooling. I wouldn’t be here without all of that.”

On referring to Vanessa Hudgens as a “friend” in past interviews: “Oh, yeah, I learned a lesson with that one. I felt that I was respecting her privacy in a way and not wanting to bring up a ton of things that would cause her to have to talk. I have so much love and care for her. It was in no way trying to erase anything.”
