Austin Stowell to Play Young Gibbs in NCIS Prequel Series

Austin Stowell has landed a new gig. The actor will star as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the NCIS prequel series, NCIS: Origins.

Set to premiere on CBS during the 2024-2025 TV season, Mark Harmon played the iconic character from 2003 to 2021. Harmon will narrate the new series, which begins in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, and chronicles Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ younger years. In the series, Gibbs (Stowell) starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.
