The Cast of AppleTV+’s ‘Manhunt’ Take Over The Library of Congress
The cast and crew of AppleTV+’s new series, Manhunt, visited The Library of Congress last night, March 13 in Washington, D.C. to host a special screening and Q&A. Anthony Boyle, who plays ‘John Wilkes Booth’; Hamish Linklater, who plays ‘Abraham Lincoln’; Patton Oswalt, who plays ‘Detective Lafayette Baker’; Lovie Simone, who plays ‘Mary Simms’; showrunner and executive producer Monica Beletsky; and, James L. Swanson, executive producer and author of The New York Times bestselling and Edgar Award-winning non-fiction book “Manhunt: the 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer.” were all on hand for the event.
“Based on The New York Times bestselling and Edgar Award-winning non-fiction book from author James L. Swanson, “Manhunt” is a conspiracy thriller about one of the best known but least understood crimes in history, the astonishing story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth in the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.”
I had the pleasure of attending the event last night and what a great episode! I will have a full review of the my take on the episode up later today, so stay tuned. But, the cast shed light on the research they did on their characters, what they hope fans take a way from the series, and so much more. My favorite response of the evening was Anthony Boyle saying he first learned about John Wilkes Booth in a The Simpsons episode where Bart played Booth.
Manhunt will hit AppleTV+ tomorrow, March 15 with the first two episodes of the series!
