Selena Gomez, Elizabeth Olsen, Nicholas Hoult, and More Head to TIFF 2024
The Toronto International Film Festival annouced the Galas and Special Presentations line-up for their 2024 festival and some of our favorite stars’ new films will be premiering at the festival.
Under Special Preseantion, Fleur Fortuné’s The Assessment, starring Elizabeth Olsen will be holding its World Premiere at the Festival. Relay, starring Lily James and Riz Ahmed, will also be holding its World Premiere at the Festival. Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield’s We Live in Time will also hold its World Premiere during the Festival.
The Order, starring Nicholas Hoult and Tye Sheridan, will hold its North American Premiere and Emilia Pérez, starring Selena Gomez, will hold its Canadian Premiere at the Festival. The Life of Chuck, starring Tom Hiddleston and Jacob Tremblay, will hold its World Premiere at the Festival.
Under Gala Presentations, animated picture, The Wild Robot featuring the voices of Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Lupita Nyong’o, Stephanie Hsu, and Bill Nighy, will hold its World Premiere at the Festival as will Eden starring Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby, and Daniel Bruehl.

The Assessment: “Set in a future world destroyed by climate change, a couple must pass an assessment before they are allowed to have a child in this sci-fi thriller starring Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Olsen.”
Relay: “Lily James and Oscar winner Riz Ahmed star in this dazzlingly clever high-concept thriller directed by David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) about a reclusive middleman for would-be whistleblowers seeking to settle with corporate malefactors.”

The Order: “Featuring startling performances from Jude Law and Tye Sheridan, this riveting historical thriller from director Justin Kurzel (Nitram) follows the FBI’s investigation into a domestic terrorist group determined to impose their racist ideology onto mainstream society.”
The Life of Chuck: “Mike Flanagan takes a detour from the macabre with this adaptation of a uniquely structured Stephen King novella that unravels a seemingly ordinary accountant’s world and the many lives he holds within himself.”
Emilia Pérez: “Featuring fearless performances from Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and the amazing Karla Sofía Gascón, the latest from director Jacques Audiard audaciously merges pop opera, narco thriller, and gender affirmation drama.”
The Wild Robot: “Featuring the voices of Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Lupita Nyong’o, Stephanie Hsu, and Bill Nighy, this DreamWorks Animation sci-fi adventure follows a robot designed to assist humans who finds herself stranded on an island populated exclusively by beasts.”
