REVIEW: Hulu Animayhem Was Worth the Wait at SDCC
BB got the chance to check out Hulu’s Hulu Animayhem activation at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend and what an activation. This was the first activation where we thought the creators learned from their mistakes in 2023 to create a better experience for fans.
The experience took you through some of the biggest animated shows to premiere on the streaming platform. As you enter the experience, you get a chance to take photos of the characters from the different series posed along the walls and ceiling. As you continue your trek, you are taken to the Family Guy portion where fans can grab a 2D object, put it on a shelve, and check out a cutaway scene from the series related to the object.
You then get into a line to take a “Goobler Stress Test” with Solar Opposites, where you get a nice goobler stress toy at the end, and then you head over to test your strength on the “Bonsai Master’s Sword” in honor of Hulu’s new series, Hit Monkey.
Fans then get the chance to grab a donut from The Simpsons’ “LardLad Donut Factory” and a glass of the infamous lime green beverage, Slurm from Futurama. During this time, you can also put Roger the Alien from American Dad back together and record a video with characters from Bob’s Burger.
When all is said and done, you get one final photo opps with setups from The Great North, Krapopolis, and Grimsburg. As you say goodbye, you are gifted a fanny pack and either a Solar Opposite set of pins or a Futurama set of pins.
All in all, we really enjoyed the activations. Having lines setup was perfect to ensure fans got the enjoy as many experiences as possible, plus they were super fast. You didn’t have to wait in line too long before you got to test out the experiences. This is an activation we have come to love every year at SDCC and this year’s experience did not disappoint.
