Demi Lovato Talks ‘Child Star’ for Teen Vogue’s September Cover
Demi Lovato went back to beginning with Teen Vogue. The singer sat down with the magazine for the cover of their September issue.
In the interview, Lovato talks her new Hulu documentary, Child Star, her grueling schedule as a child star, self-medicating, loosing herself, falling in love, being famous, and so much more. Highlights can be found below.
On her grueling schedule as a child star: “Nobody really knew how to stop the machine. There were never any pauses. I knew that being on Disney Channel, I was in a coveted position, that millions of people would trade me in a heartbeat, and I felt like I was taking it for granted. But really, I was just a teenager who was struggling.”
On Child Star: “While [Child Star is] a cautionary tale to some degree, it’s also a form of self-exploration. Would things have turned out differently had I not been in the public eye? I don’t know. And that’s what I’m still learning.”
