Corbin Bleu’s ‘Get Happy’ Musical Sets Industry Read

Corbin Bleu is working on a new Broadway musical. The actor/singer will be taking part in an industry read of the new musical, Get Happy, alongisde Stephanie Styles this January.

Based on the movie, Summer Stock, “When the company of a new Broadway show loses their rehearsal space, the gang hoofs it to a family farm in Connecticut where in the best musical tradition, the show must go on. Along the way, there are unlikely romances, some of the greatest songs of the American songbook, show-stopping choreography, and a farm – and a musical – to save.”

The private, invite-only reading will take place on January 17. The muical held a pre-run last Summer at Conneticut’s Godspeed Musicals. Bleu starred as lead, Joe Ross, in the pre-run. The role of Jane Falbury, which will be read by Styles in January, was played by Danielle Wade.

Here’s hoping this makes it past the reading and it gets to come to Broadway!
