Disney+ Orders Female Led ‘Holes’ Series

Disney+ is working on a new Holes series. Based on the book by Louis Sachar, Disney+ has given a pilot order to the new series.

First reported by Variety, unlike the book and the 2003 movie adaptation starring Shia LaBeouf, this series will feature a female actress playing the lead role. The series will follow the teenage girl as she is sent to a detention camp where the ruthless Warden forces the campers to dig holes for a mysterious purpose.

This was one of my favorite books growing up, so I am interested to see it come to life with a female lead. I wonder if the entire cast of teenagers will be female or if they will have all genders featured as the teenagers.
